The man sings his heart out – badly – and the several hundred-strong crowd cheers. This is karaoke Berlin-style, happening every fine Sunday afternoon in a park that occupies a section of the former Berlin Wall Death Strip. An intrepid Irishman set this up with a mobile karaoke sound system in 2009. The event is now a Mauerpark staple, with a catchy name, website and merchandise. Singing and cheering are free.
